Yesterday morning, Radha and I went to the GTC Bridal Gallery at Jalan Ipoh to enquiry about studio photography. The bridal shop was recommended by my brother-in-law. Two years ago, he purchased their wedding photography package, everyone seem to be impressed with the pictures.
Since, we have very limited time to do the survey, so engaged GTC Bridal Gallery’s service for the Studio Bridal Photography. We didn’t take the full package since I already engaged a bundle package with a celebrity photographer and videographer through my friend, Katok (Sham).
Since the studio is available for us only on Saturday, Radha decided to do the wedding gown try-out today. After slip into several costumes, we finally decide on one. She was dazzling like “princess” Barbie doll with the veil on the head.
Therefore, look-out for our portrait, which we will place at the entrance to the ballroom in Persada, Johor.

As a result of her good work, we booked her to do the make-up for all the ladies “in da house”, including my mother and my mother-in-law.
Be prepare to see the ladies in my family, stunning like a celebrity, parade in the ballroom.
In Hindu culture, every married woman used to get a “Thali” and “Thirumangalyam”. This is mostly made in gold as an identifiable mark for married women. This too is believed to regularize a women's blood circulation. This is also said to control the body pressure levels to a maximum extent, as Indian women tend to work hard, more than her male counterpart. The most important thing to note about this “Thirumangalyam” is that it should always be hidden or covered in the inner garments. Just because of the constant friction of the metal gold touching the body portion directly, the effect will be more to gain the said benefits. However, if the same is worn outside the clothes and making it visible to everyone, then the effect is reduced. That's why it is always advisable to wear the “Thirumangalyam” known as “Thali” inside the blouse and not to show off.
Some sample of Thirumangalyam pendants.
As for Radha, her “Thirumangalyam” pendants will be made based on the mold casted from my mother’s “Thirumangalyam” pendants. My mother got the same way from her mother-in-law. My mother’s “Thirumangalyam” pendants known as “Laksmi Thali”. This is only common among the Gounder and Brahmin caste.
The final phase of the wedding shopping was has taken us to the ‘Little India’ at Tengku Kelana Street. Members from both families had joined the ‘great’ saree hunt. After almost six to seven hours of walking in and out of all the shops, we manage to get all the items with a good bargain. Value for money indeed!
Major portion of the purchase was done at Chennai Silk Palace, beside Sri Kumarans Silk Store and Aruna’s. Since, I’m a regular customer at Chennai Silk Palace; I was given a generous discount.
The shopping went great as this is the first time both family join together on an outing. It was definitely a very happy and enjoyable moment to be treasured. I’m looking forward for such an opportunity in future.
